ANRO Continues to Expand

May 26, 2009 - West Chester, PA - In these challenging economic times, it's encouraging to come across a company that's keeping its eyes fixed on the future. Commercial printer and digital solutions provider ANRO Inc. is doing just that.

Not only has ANRO recently expanded its operations with the purchase of a 155,000 square foot building in West Chester, Pennsylvania, but the company has also added eight new pieces of equipment to its already impressive operations: a Heidelberg 40" 9-color sheetfed press, two Jet Envelope presses, an HP Indigo 7000 color digital press, two Xerox Nuvera black and white digital publishing systems and two Videojet inkjet systems.

ANRO has prospered over the past five and a half decades by making smart, carefully considered investments in new equipment and technologies that meet the changing needs of its clients. These most recent investments were also made with an eye towards satisfying both current and future needs of the market.

Offset Printing

ANRO recently installed a Heidelberg Speedmaster 40" 9-color perfecting press with coaters in its new headquarters and plant in West Chester.

The new press is equipped with a coating tower at the back end and a convertible fifth unit that enables aqueous coating to be applied on both sides inline. The 9-color Heidelberg is the fourth offset press at ANRO equipped with aqueous coating capability. ANRO's Heidelberg 6-color and 5-color CD102s and 4-color KBA 105 perfector press have been kept busy by clients who appreciate the enhanced professional look that aqueous coating lends to their marketing and other print collateral. Additionally, all four presses can handle thicker package-grade stocks, making ANRO well-equipped to handle its ever-growing dimensional printing market.

ANRO's offset pressroom is rounded out by an additional 8-color Heidelberg SM102 perfector, a 6-color Heidelberg perfector, two 2-color Heidelberg QuickMasters, a Halm Star 550, and two recently added Halm envelope presses.

The 9-color SM102 has perfecting capabilities and boasts robust printing speeds of up to 12,000 sheets per hour. It can print sheet sizes from 13 3/8" x 19" to 28" x 40". Stock thicknesses range up to 32 point.

Envelope Printing

Though much smaller in size, two new Halm Jet envelope presses - a 2-color Super Jet Plus XL Perfector and 4-color EnvelopeMaster EM4000 - have also been added to ANRO's offset pressroom, further expanding the breadth of service ANRO can offer its customers. With speeds of up to 30,000 envelopes per hour, the new Jet presses make it possible for ANRO to cost-effectively print envelopes in-house.

Digital Printing

An HP Indigo 7000 - ANRO's fourth color digital press - was recently installed to meet the growing demand for digital printing among the company's clients.

With a powerful combination of offset quality, productivity and ease-of-use, the Indigo 7000 is ideal for high-volume digital printing. Impressive production speeds of up to 120 letter-size pages per minute, larger ink containers, and the ability to perform on-the-fly spot color replacements all work together to maximize uptime and increase productivity. In other words - better, faster digital printing. The Indigo 7000 can also print on larger sheets (13" x 19"), offering ANRO's clients greater flexibility in their digitally printed pieces.

Like ANRO's other HP Indigo 6-color digital presses (two 5000 models and a s2000), the HP Indigo 7000 delivers quality that is far superior to what can be achieved with toner-based digital printing. The HP Indigos' ink-based technology and variable data capabilities make them superior to all competitive offerings (independently verified in a Seybold Report which conducted comparison testing of the quality and production efficiencies of leading digital presses).

ANRO also upgraded our black and white digital printing capabilities with the addition of two Xerox Nuvera 144EA digital publishing systems. These new machines replaced two existing Xerox Nuvera 120 models and boast considerably faster printing speeds of 144 versus 120 pages per minute.

All of ANRO's digital presses (color and black & white) are equipped with variable data capabilities allowing ANRO to personalize each printed sheet with images and text unique to individual recipients. Variable data printing has been shown to increase response rates by up to four times those of traditional mail pieces with static content.

Direct Mail

ANRO's direct mail operations were recently enhanced with the addition of a Videojet G4100 Digital Imaging System. This new system - ANRO's seventh inkjet machine - combines both quality and speed, offering resolutions of up to 600 x 1200 dpi and speeds of up to 60,000 pieces per hour.

Additionally, two of ANRO's existing inkjet systems have been upgraded to Videojet 4320 systems. This upgrade equips both machines with Wide Array technology, enabling the synchronization of multiple data or graphic fields on a single piece. Another key feature of the Videojet 4320 system is its bulk ink delivery system, which reduces downtime by requiring fewer production stops to replace ink cartridges.
