ANRO Inc. Installs Trendsetter Computer-to-Plate System
DEVON, PA USA (September 3, 1998) - ANRO Inc. recently installed an auto-loading Heidelberg/Creo Trendsetter AL at their Devon, Pennsylvania headquarters. ANRO is a full-service commercial printing company offering single to eight-color printing, electronic prepress, in-house finishing, direct mail, fulfillment, Internet and multimedia services. The new Computer-to-Plate (CTP) equipment further automates the printing process, eliminating the need for film in plate production by directly producing press plates from a computer workstation. The resulting plate boasts a clean, sharp image identical to its digital master.
Larry Wolf, Director of Marketing notes that "ANRO and more importantly, our clients, will benefit from a streamlined process, reduced raw material costs, and enhanced print quality. The latter is improved through the application of a precisely measured first generation dot right onto a press plate, versus a copy generated from film."
The installation of a CTP process at ANRO has gone smoothly, with the first plate hitting the press on day two of the installation. Reaction in the pressroom is very positive according to Lou Ruggieri, Plant Manager, who states, "The press operators are very happy with the quality of the plates. Registration is tight, dot gain is not a problem - everything came together very well."
ANRO has thrived because of their dedication to providing complete graphic communication solutions to a broad range of customers. The ongoing evaluation and acquisition of state-of-the-art technology is an integral component of this strategy. Given the reliability of Heidelberg's equipment and the favorable feedback from the few initial CTP installations, adding the Trendsetter to ANRO's family of printing solutions was a natural progression. Says Wolf, "We carefully orchestrate the acquisition of new equipment and processes to ensure our customers have access to the best service available."
ANRO's client base spans multiple industries throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and includes financial institutions, manufacturing and service operations, utilities, and advertising/graphic arts agencies. To meet the diverse output requirements of their customers, ANRO has installed a combination of large and small format presses, including seven large Heidelberg presses and an 8-Color Heidelberg Perfector Press, as well as numerous single- and dual-color presses. The Trendsetter AL was integrated into ANRO's existing Delta workflow.
